Thilio is an interactive language learning toy for children aged 3 to 7 years. It uses modern AI technology to playfully foster language development – without a screen, but with plenty of dialogue, curiosity, and fun.

Thilio recognizes the child's language using advanced speech recognition, understands children's speech particularly well, and engages in lively conversations. It tells stories, asks questions, plays learning games, and thus stimulates language development.

In its basic version, Thilio is designed for German, English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. Other languages are planned but not yet integrated. The goal is a multilingual platform, especially for bilingual families.

Yes. Thilio is cloud-based and requires an active Wi-Fi connection to play content, recognize speech, and respond to interactions. An offline mode is currently not available.

Yes. Thilio was specially developed for children. The content is moderated, data is encrypted (GDPR and COPPA compliant), and there is no camera, no advertising, and no hidden purchases. Your child's privacy and security are our top priority.

Thilio will take the form of a friendly, child-friendly animal – the exact design is still under development. The goal is a shape that encourages play, hugs, and interaction.

Thilio offers: Vocabulary games, interactive stories, rhyming games and language riddles Questions to encourage thinking, initial emotional and social learning content. The content adapts to the child's age and individual language level.

Yes. The concept is based on the latest findings in linguistic research (e.g., Vygotsky's coconstructivism and studies from the Max Planck Institute). Through dialogic learning, targeted questions, feedback, and repeated application, vocabulary, grammar, and expression are playfully trained.

Yes. The companion app allows parents to customize learning content, view progress, and adjust individual settings (language, content, times).

Yes, Thilio recognizes different voices and can adapt to multiple children. This way, each child is addressed and supported individually.

Regularly. New games, stories, and features are continuously delivered from the cloud, with no installation required by parents.

Thilio is currently in the prototype phase. However, interested parents can sign up for our waiting list or test group to gain early insights and participation opportunities.
